Blue Microphones—SEO Strategy to Reach New Audiences

CHALLENGE

With 25 years of experience and heritage in the recording studio, Blue Microphones is well known among musicians and audio engineers. But Blue wanted to raise awareness of their USB and XLR microphones with podcasters, gamers and YouTubers, and solidify the brand as a staple for content creators.

SOLUTION

Working closely with Blue, Amplify developed a comprehensive SEO strategy to raise brand awareness, drive organic web traffic and increase sales.

We began the process by analyzing which keywords Blue currently ranks for and collecting baseline key performance indicators to measure our progress. Next, we performed a competitive analysis to determine which keywords had the highest traffic, and created a list of low-volume keywords to increase domain authority in the short-term.

We then conducted a technical audit of the Blue site and provided copy recommendations based on our target keywords. We also tailor made high-quality, keyword-rich blog posts for each customer type, which we shared on social media as part of a fully integrated marketing plan.

RESULTS

  • Increased daily web traffic by 85% in six months (from 3,500 to 6,500 visitors)
  • Improved click-through rate for target keywords by 29%
  • Improved the rank of target keywords by an average of 48 positions, with some terms increasing by as much as 90 positions
